Air Jordan 12 Taxi
1996 was a great year for Michael Jordan and his brand. Jordan and the Bulls went on to win the 1996 title
against the Seattle SuperSonics. Winning their 5th championship could do nothing but strengthen the Jordan’s
notoriety and brand. And so it did. The Air Jordan 12 was inspired by the Japanese Rising sun flag and 19th century
upscale women’s boot.
The original Air Jordan 12 Taxi color way was
realeased the same year for $135. The upper is constructed with a white leather upper with a faux reptile print on
the black side panel. The Air Jordan 12 in this color is dubbed the “Taxi” because of the bottom of the outsole is
seen with a yellow and black stripped pattern mimicking that of taxi cabs. The same color scheme would be a part of
Jordan Brand’s Countdown Pack where it released alongside the Air Jordan XI in 2008 for a retail price of $310.
